  ALICE COURTNEY
  
    Mrs. Alice Courtney, aged 77 years, widow of Francis Courtney, died at her 
  home in Acosta at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Jan. 11.  Death was caused by 
  dropsy.  Mr. Courtney passed away December 27 last.
    Mrs. Courtney is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mayme Rush, of Acosta, and one 
  son, Thomas Courtney, of Somerset.  She also leaves one sister, Miss Catherine 
  Dougherty, and two brothers, Edward and J. J. Dougherty, all residing in 
  Connellsville.  Seven grandchildren also survive.
    Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Monday morning in SS. Philip and 
  James Catholic Church, Meyersdale.  Mass was celebrated by the Very Rev. Father 
  J. J. Brady, rector.  Interment was in the church cemetery, where her husband 
  was buried on December 29.
