  FRANCIS COURTNEY
  
    Francis Courtney, aged 84 years, father of Thomas A. Courtney, well known 
  mining executive of Somerset, expired suddenly about 7:30 o'clock Friday morning 
  at his home in Acosta.  His death was due to a heart attack.
    Mr. Courtney, who was born in Ireland and, on coming to this country, resided 
  in Meyersdale for many years, is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. L. S. 
  Rush, of Acosta, and a son, named above.
    The funeral services were held in SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, the 
  pastor, Very Rev. J. J. Brady officiating.  A number of friends from his home 
  accompanied the body here.  The floral offerings were numerous.
