  John H. Cover, 89, Meyersdale, died Jan. 12, 2000 at Meyersdale Medical
  Center.  Born Aug. 16, 1910 in Meyersdale.  A son of the late John N. and
  Annie F. (Hammond) Cover.  Also preceded in death by his wife the former
  Verna S. Staub; a brother, Dr. William "Pete" Cover, and three sisters Mary
  Pellegrino; Julia A. Cover, and Sara C. Braucher.  Survived by two children:
  John N. Cover, married to the former Mary Susan Deal, and Janet C., wife of
  Randall C. Newman, all of Meyersdale.  Also five grandchildren.  John was a
  veteran of the U.S. Army WW II and a member of the Amity United Church of
  Christ, Meyersdale.  He attended Massanutten Military Academy, and
  Washington and Lee University.  One of the first directors of Meyersdale
  Community Hospital and was director of the Citizens National Bank in
  Meyersdale for many years.  He founded Cover Insurance Agency, Meyersdale
  in 1939, and was also employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Property
  and Supplies.  A member of many civic and fraternal organizations.  Friends
  will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Price Funeral Home,
  Meyersdale where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, with Rev.
  Gary Morris officiating.  Interment, Union Cemetery, Meyersdale.
