R. Eicher, at Scottdale, on Wednesday, May 13th, after a short illness. He was aged about 74 years. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 16th, with interment in the Versailles Cemetery near McKeesport. John Cowan was a retired baggagemaster of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, having served in that capacity with the B. & O. R.R. for over 35 years. Since his retirement several years ago, he spent the summers in Confluence and made many friends here. His wife preceded him to the grave, having died here about two years ago. Mr. Cowan left Confluence late last fall to spend the winter in Florida. J. B. Coughenour was in attendance at the funeral. Meyersdale Republican, May 21, 1931
