All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ _______________________________________________ DEATH OVERTAKES AGED WOMAN AT TARR HOME Mrs. Mary Lohr Craig, aged 80 years, died at her home in Tarr, Sunday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Although Mrs. Craig had been ill for several years her death came as a severe shock to the entire family. She was able to be about on Sunday and preparing the noonday meal when her death occurred. She is survived by her husband, Samuel B. Craig, and two sons, Frank B. Craig, of Tarr, and William M. Craig, of South Greensburg. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Craig was born at Indian Creek, Fayette county, October 15, 1844. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel R. Lohr, pioneer settlers of Indian Creek Valley. She was married to Mr. Craig July 12, 1885, and they lived near Donegal until 1889 when they moved to Tarr where they have since resided. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon in the Mt. Lebanon Methodist Episcopal church at Tarr. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Bleakley, pastor of the Church of the Brethren of Indian Creek of which Mrs. Craig had been a member for 50 years, and Rev. Rowe, pastor of the Tarr Methodist church, will have charge of the services. Scottdale Independent, November 25, 1924 [C1079]
