CRASS Hazel Jean Crass, 55, of 1544-B Oldtowne Manor Apartments, died Wednesday Sept. 11, 1995, at Memorial Hospital. She was born in Rockwood, May 18, 1930, a daughter of the late Samuel A. Nicholson and Anna Edna (Shugars) Nicholson. She was formerly employed in the cafeteria at St. Mary's School. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church; president of the Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary, and a member of the ladies Auxiliary of Henry Hart Post 1411 Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Cooties. She was a 1949 graduate of Fort Hill High School. Surviving are her husband, Edward Roy Crass; one daughter, Mrs. Karen J. Knippenberg, Oldtown Road; three brothers: Paul A. Nicholson, Bowling Green; Billy M. Nicholson, Baton Rouge, La.; James H. Nicholson, Chula Vista, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Bettye Lawrence, Tucson, Ariz.; Jane Nicholson, Cumberland; Mrs. Nancy Rodenhauser, Cresaptown, and three grandchildren. Friends were received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home where services were conducted Saturday at 9 a.m. by the Rev. Robert Hopkins, the Rev. John Huffaker and the Rev. Lee McDaniel. Interment, Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers were John Lawrence, Jeffrey Nicholson, Michael Nicholson, Timothy Davis, Billy Hunt and Jerry Loibel. The Republic, September 19, 1985 [C1119]
