Born Sept. 24, 1900 in St. Thomas, Chambersburg, Franklin County. Son of late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Crider. Preceded in death by: his wife Catherine in 1985; sisters, Blanche, Nellie and Emma, and brothers John and Wilson. Survived by nephew Virgil Crider of St. Thomas, Pa. Member of the Somerset Church of the Brethren. Worked in Ralphton for the Quemahoning Coal Co. where he worked at the Kuhn's Mines Store. He later purchased the Kuhn's Mines Store and the whole settlement. He later purchased and operated a store in Friedens. He later built, owned and operated the Highway Supermarket on the Stoystown Road which is now known as the Roof Garden Market. Friends will be received one hour prior to funeral service at the Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, at 11 a.m. Thursday, Rev. Larry Black officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
