Crist, 92, of Stoystown RD 1, died Sept. 30, 1974, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born July 31, 1882, in Jenner Township, a son of Jesse and Sarah (Pile) Crist. Preceded in death by parents: brothers, Jesse, Benjamin, John and Phillip; and sisters, Mrs. Annie Barnett and Miss Sadie Crist. Survived by a sister, Mary Elizabeth, wife of Harry O. Homer, Stoystown RD 1; nieces, Mrs. Sarah Ogline and Mrs. Milton Lohr; a nephew, Harold Horner. Was a prominent retired Jenner Township farmer; long-time member of former Boswell Lodge 1172, I.O.O.F. and now a member of Somerset Lodge 438, I.O.O.F.; long-time member of Horner Lutheran Church and Sunday School; and a director of Horner-Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-9 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and until noon Thursday at Joseph H. Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell. Body will be removed to Horner Lutheran Church for viewing from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. William H. Snyder. Interment, Homer-Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
