Born March 15, 1915, at Meyersdale, she was the daughter of the late James and Ruth (Smeak) Swearman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Critchfield. Mrs. Critchfield was a seamstress for the former Salisbury Undergarment Factory. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Meyersdale. Surviving are two sons: Paul (Bud) Critchfield and wife Betty, Salisbury; Richard Critchfield and wife Beverly, Fort Hill; one daughter, Connie Shaffer and husband Robert, Gibsonia; two sisters: Ethel Martincic, Lancaster; Elaine Miller, Meyersdale; seven grandchildren: Cindy, Tracy, Larissa, Ryan, Joy, Pam and Ann Marie; and six great-grandchildren: Nathan, Wade, Travis, Tyler, Dominique and Jesse. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., Salisbury. Services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gene Abel officiating. Committal was in the Salisbury Cemetery.
