Critchfield, in Uniontown, Thursday, March 20, 1941, and was buried on Sunday, March 23. The body was brought from Uniontown to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Zella Show, in Confluence, and later was taken to the Methodist Church, where funeral services were held by Rev. J. O. Martin. She was buried in Johnson Chapel cemetery near where she was born and reared and was kin to all the old residents of that district. Mrs. Critchfield was a remarkable woman, retaining her faculties until the end, passing away with a gentle sigh, ending a life of usefulness and beauty. Great devotion was given to her by her relatives and her appreciation was given in return. She mentioned all her near relatives before passing, and those that had preceded her, saying she knew where they were. It had been hoped she could live until she passed the hundred mark.
