James D. Critchfield, 87 of Resthaven, York, Pa., died April 20 1977, in York. 
Born Feb. 4, 1890, in Rockwood, a son of the late Jacob and Louisa (Critchfield) 
Critchfield. Preceded in death by his wife, the former Laura Tannehill, 
three brothers and three sisters. Survived by two daughters, Mrs. Laura Hoffman 
of Johnstown; Mrs. Martha Eareckson of Baltimore, Md.; also five grandchildren. 
Member of Christ Lutheran Church, York. Interment, later in Somerset County 
Memorial Park.
