Critchfield, 68, of Schererville, Ind., died June 16, 1974, in his residence. Born in Ursina, Sept. 8, 1905, he was a son of James A. and Elizabeth (Miller) Critchfield. Surviving are his wife, the former Sarah Wisman; a son, James W., New Hope, Minn.; two granddaughters, Cara Lynn and Leah; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret French, Seabrook, Texas, and Mrs. Betty Bower, Confluence; and a brother, Joseph of Ursina. He was a member of the Methodist Church, a member and past master of Glen Park Lodge, F&AM; a member of Orah Shrine of Hammond, Ind., and of South Bend Consistory. He was a retired plant protection officer with Gary Tube Works. Funeral service will be conducted this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, Somerset, with Rev.
