Critchfield, 84, of Meyersdale, formerly of Garrett RD 1, died Sept. 16, 1996 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Sept. 10, 1912 in Summit Twp. a son of the late Henry M. and Phoebe (Burkholder) Critchfield. Also preceded in death by an infant son and daughter; and sister, Margaret Schaffer. Survived by his wife, the former Hazel I. Glotfelty, and three sons: Donald W. Critchfield, Vineland, N.J.; Richard L. Critchfield, Canton, Ohio; and Thomas L. Critchfield, Berlin. Also six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a half brother, Bob Walters, Garrett RD 1. Retired from the B&O Railroad in 1977. A member of the United Methodist Church, Meyersdale, and the senior citizens. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Price Funeral Home Meyersdale. Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church with Pastor Craig Lyman, and Pastor Ray Gnagey officiating. Interment Center Church Cemetery, Garrett RD 1.
