Critchfield, 76, of Jennerstown, died Feb. 15, 1983, at his residence. Born March 15, 1906, in Jenner Township, a son of Samuel E. and Emma (Weigley) Critchfield. Preceded in death by his first wife, Marian Mae Fritz, and four brothers. Survived by his widow, the former Florence (Fritz) Friedline; a daughter, Esther Ankeny, Friedens RD 1; and a step-son, Denver Friedline, Stoystown RD 1; and these grandchildren: Kim Ankeny, Friedens RD 1; and Barbara Welsh, Port St. Lucy, Fla.; and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Bittner, Somerset RD 2. Member of the Sipesville Church of the Brethren. A former owner of the Coal Junction Coal Company; and a member of the T.E. Hern Hunting Camp. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Blair Harshbarger officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Family requests contributions may be made to Pennsylvania Highland Heart Association, Johnstown.
