Critchfield, 80, of Baltimore, formerly of Meyersdale, died Feb. 7, 1972, in Perry Point Veterans Hospital. Born Aug. 24, 1891, in Somerset County, he was a son of the late Milton W. and Mary (Dull) Critchfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Binnie Auman, four brothers and two sisters. Surviving are these children: Kenneth, Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) Tice, Mrs. Samuel (Mary Jane) Kirchner, and Mrs. John (Pauline) Schiesser, all of Baltimore; Mrs. William (Ruth) Baker, of Salisbury, Md.; and Mrs. Thomas (Donna) Gillikin, of Chestertown, Ind.; also a brother, Frank Critchfield of Florence, Ala. A veteran of World War I, he was a past commander of the Somerset American Legion Post. Funeral service will be conducted Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock in Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, Somerset, where friends will be received at 7 o'clock this (Thursday) evening. Rev. George Bowersox Jr. will officiate at the funeral service. Interment in Husband Cemetery.
