  CRITCHFIELD
  
  W. Roy Critchfield, 76, Sipesville, died Oct. 20, Somerset Community
  Hospital.  Born April 21, 1898, in Jenner Township, a son of the late
  Samuel E. and Emma Weigley Critchfield.  Preceded in death by brothers,
  John and Homer.  Survived by his wife, the former Bee Edmiston, and these
  children: Mrs. William (Ruth) Baer, Jr., Bedford RD 1; Mrs. L. Frank
  (Alice) Bittner, Everett RD 2; William R., Jr., married to the former
  Kathryn Shippe, Somerset RD 5; 12 grandchildren.  Was a brother of Mrs.
  Bessie Bittner, Somerset RD 2, and Norman and Morris, both of Friedens RD
  1.  Was a lifelong member of Sipesville Church of the Brethren, where he
  served as a deacon for 48 years.  Was a member of the Sipesville Lions Club
  and the T.E. Hearn Hunting Camp.  He had been engaged in building contract
  work in the Somerset Area for the past 52 years.  Death ended a marriage of
  54 years.  Friends will be received after 7 P.M. Monday in the Richard E.
  Hauger Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Wednesday in the
  Sipesville Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. John Manges officiating. 
  Interment, Sipesville Cemetery.  Remains will lie in state at the church
  from 10 a.m. Wednesday until services.  Contributions may be made to the
  memorial fund of Sipesville Church of the Brethren.
