Critchfield, 71, of Green Cove Springs, FL., passed away at his residence on March 2, 1995. Born April 15, 1923, in Rockwood, Pa., son of the late Daniel Z. Critchfield and Effie (Marker) Critchfield. Bill was a long time resident of Meyersdale, Pa. World War II veteran. Retired U.S. Postal Service employee. Member of DAV, Meyersdale Volunteer Fire Department and Zion Lutheran Church, Meyersdale. Survivors are a loving and devoted family, including wife, Mary Elizabeth (Werner) Critchfield; three daughters: Patricia A. Grew, wife of Earl E. Grew Jr., Meyersdale; Barbara J. Critchfield, wife of Gary Lukehart, Ambridge; Nancy C. Starr, wife of Phillip Starr, Green Cove Springs, and one son, John E. Critchfield, married to the former Margaret Mapes, Somerset; also three grandchildren: Keena Joy Grew, Julian Clayton Critchfield and Matthew Palmer Starr. Two brothers: Mark Critchfield, Worthington, Pa., and Daniel "Skip" Critchfield, Meyersdale. Family memorial service will be held Saturday March 11, at the home of his daughter, Patricia Grew. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of N.E. Florida, 1400 Old Dixie Highway, Ste. A., St. Augustine, FL, 32086 and the American Cancer Society.
