She was born November 7, 1920 in Meyersdale, daughter of Norman and Minnie (Swearman) Fike. Preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 59 years John W. Croner. She is survived by her children: John J., married to the former Mary Jane Persuhn; Norman G, married to the former Carol Burk; Beth, married to Ernest Ohler, all of Berlin; and Jeanne, married to Bradley Myers, East Earl, PA. Also survived by grandchildren: Mark, Lorri, Joshua, Christy, Cassey, Candace, Michael, Jessica, Carley, and Lydia; great grandchildren: Kacey, Rylee, Jacob, and Brennan; sisters-in-law: Helen and Barbara Croner, both of Berlin; numerous nieces and nephews; and special caregiver Pauline Hoffman. She was a graduate of Meyersdale High School and IUP. She worked as a teacher in both the Meyersdale and Berlin Brothersvalley School districts. She was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Member of the 2nd Society of Farm Women where she held many different offices; Lady Rebekahs, Senior Extension, and the Valley and Hillcrest Granges. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, traveling and spending time with her friends and family. During WWII, she volunteered at Kelly Springfield in Cumberland where she packed supplies and did clerical work. Family received friends at the Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Viewing and service was held at the Berlin Alliance Church, Reverend Sherman Berkey officiating. Interment Pine Hill Lutheran Cemetery.
