She was aged 88 years, 8 months and 18 days. She had been a patient in the hospital for two years, having gone there when her home in Addison was broken up. She was the first patient in the new hospital. She was the widow of Andrew Cross, who died 25 years ago. She was a much loved person in her home community and the same personality won her friends among the nurses and doctors in the hospital. She was a daughter of the late George and Harriet (Wirsing) Colborn, being a descendent of two of the oldest families in Lower Turkeyfoot Township. She is survived by two grandchildren, Mrs. Gail Cross Gray, of Wellsburg and Jack Cross of Somerset. Rev. John O. Martin of the Methodist Church had charge of the funeral service at which a trio composed of Mrs. M. M. Brooke, Mrs. Theodore Marquart and Mrs. J. Tome Reynolds, sang beautiful selections. Interment was in the Addison Cemetery in charge of Harry Rishebarger, funeral director. Meyersdale Republican, October 17, 1940
