After having left Boswell a little more than two years ago, Mr. Cross with his family moved to West Virginia where he followed mining for a time, later going to Beatty where he was superintendent of extensive coal operations up until his death. As a mining official he was regarded as being far above average, and his kind and considerate ways of handling men made him a favorite wherever he worked. His wife and five children survive.
