HENRY STEWART CROWE

  Henry Stewart Crowe, 85, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 9, at his home in Avilton, 
Md., after a long illness.  He was the last member of a family of nine children 
of Henry and Hariette (Durst) Crowe, settlers in New Germany.  He lived on the 
homestead until 10 or 12 years ago, when he located near Avilton.
  He is survived by his wife, three daughters - Mrs. Mary Wilhelm and Mrs. Pearl 
Wilhelm, Avilton, and Mrs. Hazel Garletz, Cumberland - and four sons - Harry, 
recently returned from Germany; Samuel, Lee and Edgar, at home.
  Mr. Crowe was a member of New Germany Methodist Church where funeral services 
were conducted last Friday at 2:30 p.m., with the M. E. pastor, Rev. Charles 
Sisk, officiating.
