He was the son of the late John and Ida Crowe, and was born in the Savage Mountain section of Garrett County, where he resided until three months ago when he moved to Frostburg. Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Cleota Pope; five children, Kenneth Crowe, Potomac Park; Wilford Crowe and Mrs. Leota McKenzie, Finzel; Mrs. Iva De Haven, Winchester, Va., and Mrs. Evelyn Beiman, Wright's Crossing; two brothers, Gilbert Crowe, Eglon, W.Va., and Gurney Crowe, Cumberland; also four sisters, Mrs. Lela Coleman, Frostburg; Mrs. Hazel Brode, Midlothian; Mrs. Pearl Griffith, Finzel, and Mrs. Lulu Wampler, Route 40, near New Colonial Inn, and five grandchildren. Mr. Crowe was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Emmanuel Methodist Church, near Johnson's in Garrett County. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Mt. Zion M. E. Church, Rev. D. J. Combs of Grantsville, officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, August 21, 1947
