Crowe, 82, native and lifelong resident of Garrett County, Md., died Wednesday evening, July 14, at his home in Finzel after becoming seriously ill for one week. He was a successful farmer and a member of the Methodist Church, having served as Sunday school superintendent at Johnson's Church, for more than fifty years. His death occurred exactly 30 years after the death of his mother. He was the third of eleven children, only two of whom survive - Eugene Crowe of Meyersdale, and Mrs. Calvin Wilson of Frostburg. He is also survived by his wife, four sons, Glen Crowe, Meyersdale; Roy E. Crowe, Finzel; Lee Crowe, Arlington, Va.; and Denzel Crowe, Frostburg; a daughter, Mrs. Everett Durst, Frostburg; seventeen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Johnson Church along the National Pike, Rev. Virgil Gillum of the Grantsville M. E. Church, officiating. Interment in the Johnson Cemetery.
