  CROYLE
  
  Gladys M. Croyle, 89, of Berlin, formerly of Stoystown, died Dec. 17, 2001
  at Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin.  Born Jan. 19, 1912 in Hooversville,
  daughter of Harvey and Mary Virginia (Herring) Shaffer.  Preceded in death
  by her parents; husband Berton H.; children, Eugene, Donald and Dwight;
  five sisters and eight brothers.  Survived by these children: Audrey Kubli,
  Pitcairn, Ronald, married to the former Constance Berkebile, Stoystown,
  Romayne, married to Robert Harkcom, Berlin, Bert, married to the former
  Patricia Lorence, Stoystown, Jerry, married to the former Elizabeth
  Whitney, Seanor; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and three
  great-great-grandchildren.  She worked on the dairy farm outside Stoystown
  with her husband, and was a cook at the former Stash's Restaurant,
  Stoystown.  Member of Sugar Grove Church of the Brethren, Blough, where she
  quilted for many years, and attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin. 
  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the
  Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday with
  Rev. Melvin A. Kirk Jr., Rev. Ronald Croyle Jr., and Rev. Kermit Jones
  officiating.  Interment, Berkey Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be
  sent to Sugar Grove Church of the Brethren, Hooversville RD 1, Pa. 15936.
