Croyle, 83, of Thomas Mills, Hollsopple RD 2, died May 26, 1982, in Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born Nov. 21, 1898, in Thomas Mills, son of John H. and Emma (Thomas) Croyle. Preceded in death by parents, son Dwayne, two infant sons, one infant daughter, and brother Roy. Survived by his wife, the former Emma N. Stahl; and these children: Dr. Denton, Wadsworth, Ohio; the Rev. Ellis B., Archbold, Ohio; Lois Hogge, Vista, Calif.; daughter-in-law Violet Croyle Spence, Camp Hill; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Brother of Florence Yoder, Hollsopple RD 2; brother-in-law of Hulda Croyle Young, Boswell. Life member of Thomas Mennonite Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher; charter member of the Lauraville Mennonite Church Center; sawyer for Boswell Lumber Company for 30 years; employed at Mason Funeral Home for nine years. His death ends a marriage union of 64 years. Past president and member of Maple Springs Citizens Group; member of New Centerville Farmers' and Threshermen's Jubilee for 20 years. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the George E. Mason Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the Thomas Mennonite Church, where the remains will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until time of service, with the Revs. Aldus Wingard, Stanley Freed, Donald Speigle and Sanford Shepley officiating.
