  CHARLES FRANKLIN CUSTER
  
    Charles Franklin Custer, 83, 728 South St., Berlin, died July 23, 1980,
  at his residence.
    He was born June 26, 1897, in Fairhope, son of the late Harvey and Annie
  (Smith) Custer.  He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Melda
  Pritts, who died July 17, 1980; one son, Robert; three brothers; one
  sister; and one great-grandchild.
    He is survived by the following children: Roy, Rochester, N.Y.; Mrs.
  Ferne Christner, Dover, Del.; Mrs. Betty Thomas, Port Deposit, Mr.; Paul
  and Lynn, both of Berlin; Dale, Berlin RD 1; Donald, Lonaconing, Md.; and
  Mrs. John (Alma) Kurtz, Lucas, Ohio; 25 grandchildren and 20
  great-grandchildren.  He was the brother of William and Delbert Custer,
  both of Fairhope; Mrs. Mary King ,and Luella Custer, both of Berlin.  He
  was a retired coal operator and member of Brothersvalley Church of
  Brethren, and the men's fellowship of the church.  Fiends were received at
  the Johnson-Kuhlman, Funeral Home, Berlin, where services will be held
  Saturday at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Owen Preston and the Rev. James Hall
  officiating.  Interment, Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
