  FOSTER D. CUSTER
  
    Foster D. Custer, 76, of Davidsville, died Sept. 19, 1973, in Windber
  Hospital.  Born Feb. 28, in Vinco, he was a son of the late Jacob B. and
  Clara (Rorabaugh) Custer.
    Mr. Custer was former executive director of the Somerset County Board of
  Assistance, having served in that capacity from June 1941 until July
  1962.  Before 1941, he was manager of the relief works program in Somerset
  County for 1 1/2 years.
    He was preceded in death by his first wife. the former Louisa Morgan, in
  May 1962.
    Surviving are his widow, the former Verna Kaufman; and these children:
  Foster D. Jr., Davidsville; Florence Adams, Sepulveda, Calif.; Donald L.,
  Johnstown; and Janet Lint, Pittsburgh; a stepdaughter, Judith Blough,
  Davidsville; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; three brothers
  and a sister.
    Funeral service was held Saturday morning in Davidsville, with Rev.
  Luther A. Gotwald officiating.  Interment in South Fork Cemetery.
