  J. Lucille Custer, 84, of Friedens died June 17, 2001 at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born May 22, 1917 in Friedens, daughter of John Preston and
  Edith Gertrude (Barnhart) Coleman.  Preceded in death by parents; husband,
  William; brother Harold; sisters Margaret Bender, Rachel Dickey, Sara
  Koontz and Elizabeth Lowery.  Survived by daughters Nancy, married to Wayne
  Beeghly, Somerset, and Mary Ann, married to Ralph Berkley of Peoria, Ill.;
  grandchildren Paula Fike of Amesbury, Mass., Eric Beeghly, San Francisco,
  Calif., and Nathan Berkley, Peoria, Ill.; and great-grandchildren Katherine
  Julia Fike and Alexandra Berkley; also a brother Dwight Coleman of
  Williamsport, Md.  A graduate of Somerset Twp. High School.  Retired
  Friedens postmaster.  Member of Friedens Lutheran Church and former member
  of the Stoystown Lioness Club.  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and
  7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.  Viewing from 1 p.m.
  until service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Friedens Lutheran Church.  Rev. Dennis
  L. Doebler officiating.  Interment, church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers,
  contributions may be given to In Touch Hospice, Somerset, Pa. 15501, or
  Friedens Lutheran Church, Friedens, Pa. 15541.
