George Custer, died Sunday morning at the home his daughter, Mrs. J. H. Hershberger, in Johnstown, Sunday morning, from paralysis, having suffered from that disease since July 2. Deceased was a son of Frederick and Elizabeth Stuver Custer and was born near Davidsville. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Custer came to Somerset County from England and France. John Custer was a cousin of Gen. George Armstrong Custer, of the Fifth United States Cavalry, who was killed by the Indians in the battle of Little Big Horn, in Dakota, June 1876. Deceased was one of a family of seventeen children and is the last to pass away. A sister, Mrs. Hannah Custer Seese, died two mos. ago at Hooversville, in her 90th year. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon. There survives: three sons, four daughters, nineteen grandchildren and thirty- two great grandchildren. Meyersdale Commercial, Aug. 5, 1915
