Edward Custer, 68, of Somerset RD 1 died Oct. 4, 1994, at Somerset Hospital. Born Nov. 2, 1925, in Milford Township, Somerset County. Son of the late Luther Harry and Anna Margaret (Sipe) Custer. Also preceded in death by sister, Betty Custer. Survived by his wife, the former Lois Eldean Flickinger; daughters: Mrs. Ronald E. (Sandra) Wright, Somerset RD 1; Mrs. Lori Wright and Ms. Nancy Jo Barron, both of Somerset, and seven grandchildren. Brother of Mrs. Ted (Arlene) Hartle, Slippery Rock, Pa.; Dean R. Custer, Orefino, Idaho; Fred S. Custer, Somerset RD l; Wayne J. Custer, Central City RD 1; Mrs. Richard (Diane) Stevanus, Rockwood RD 3. Also survived by mother-in-law, Gladys Flickinger, Somerset RD 1. Retired truck driver from the former Eastern Express Co., retiring in 1967 with 15 years of service. Veteran of U.S. Merchant Marines in World War II. Member of Messiah Lutheran Church, New Centerville. Past director of the Laurel Ridge Sportsmen's Association. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. John Palko officiating.
