Born June 18, 1926, in Jennerstown, she was the daughter of Harry C. and Ruth M. (Hoover) Jacobs. She was preceded in death by parents, brother Dr. Robert V. Jacobs and husband Robert L. Custer. She is survived by three children Denise C. wife of Warren R. Myers of Morgantown, W.Va.; Craig J, and fiancee Barbara Tyo of Murrysville; and David J. married to the former Candy Mancuso of Morgantown, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren, Justin and Jennifer Myers; Jeremy, Michael and Adam Myers; Courtney, Chad and Carson Custer, and Kristen and Elizabeth Custer. She also is survived by sister Mary Louise wife of Ray Ream of Somerset; sister-in-laws Mary Jane Custer and Helen Sabin and brother-in-law James F. Custer and wife Vivian; and numerous nieces and nephews including Jon Jacobs and wife Aimee of Somerset. She was a graduate of Jefferson Medical College Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She was an RN for 50 years and served as a cadet nurse while in training. Her career included nursing in obstetrics, the ER and the operating room. She was a teacher for nurses' aides and was a psychiatric nurse supervisor for 22 years at the Somerset State Hospital. She was active in the Eastern Star, Registered Nurse Association, the Music Club, Welfare League, president of the Somerset Area Ambulance Association for 13 years, served on the board of directors for the Children's Aid Home of Somerset County, active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Somerset for 64 years. Because of her love of the Lord, she sang in the choir for all of those 64 years and also on the altar guild for 25 years. She was on the church council, Luther League, a Sunday school teacher, board of education and usher. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Somerset with the Rev. Susan Yatta officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children's Aid Home of Somerset County, 1476 N. Center Avenue, Somerset, Pa. 15501. Arrangements by George E.
