  CUSTER
  
  Melvin E. Custer, 63, Berlin RD 1, died June 5, 1990, at home.  Born Dec.
  17, 1926, in Allegheny Township, son of Samuel and Clara (Kennell)
  Custer.  Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Leonard and John. 
  Survived by his wife of 42 years, the former Elizabeth Walker, and those
  children: James, Douglas and Timothy, all of Berlin; Jean Kimmel,
  Hermitage, and Dianne, Somerset; also five grandchildren.  He was a brother
  of Phyllis Hoppert, Kenneth Custer, Russell Custer, Helen Miller and Evelyn
  Baughman, all of Berlin; Edith Leona Miller, Jerome; Faye Saylor, Fairfax,
  Va.  Member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin.  Family will
  receive friends from 2-9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin,
  where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Carl W.
  Schwarm officiating.  Interment, I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Berlin.  Memorials may
  be given to Trinity United Church of Christ.
