  CUSTER
  
  Wayne J. Custer, 59, of Sorbet Road, Central City, died Feb. 4, 2002 at
  home.  Born Oct. 4, 1942 in Somerset, son of Luther and Margaret (Sipe)
  Custer.  Preceded in death by parents, infant sister Betty, brother Edward,
  and sister Arlene Hartle.  Survived by his wife of 35 years, the former
  Sharon Pile and these children: Jeffrey, married to Susan Tsai of Hampton,
  Va.; Douglas of Pittsburgh, and Rebecca of Seattle, Wash.  Brother of Dean
  of Orofino, Idaho, Fred of Somerset, and Diane Stevanus of Rockwood.  Also
  numerous nieces and nephews.  A 1960 graduate of Somerset High School, and
  served in the U.S. Army.  Wayne was a self-employed heavy equipment
  broker.  He was a faithful friend of wildlife, providing feeding stations
  that he maintained regardless of weather conditions.  At Wayne's request
  there will be no viewing or service.  Instead of flowers, contributions may
  be given to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber.  Arrangements by
  Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.
