All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ From May 4, 1949 Local Somerset Newspaper Mike Czweka Mike Czweka 69, of Somerset R.D. 1 who was found unconscious last Monday evening in his small shanty by neighbors, died in Somerset County Hospital early Tuesday morning without having regained consciousness. He had lived alone near New Centerville. When found last week, investigation was made by Deputy Sheriff Wayne Hay and members of the Somerset sub-station State Police and he was removed to the hospital. He was born August 13, 1880 and came to America from Poland 40 years ago. He became a citizen of the U.S. about a year ago. He had worked for farmers in the Milford Township section for many years. One son survives Sgt. Thomas Krause with the U.S. army of occupation in Germany. He was a member of the National Slovak Society of Jerome. Friends are being received in the Walter S. Hoffman Funeral Home where service will be conducted Thursday at 10 am with mass in St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Albert Gartland in Charge.
