Daberko, 74, died suddenly, Friday, April 29, at his home on Beachley Street, Meyersdale. He was born in Berlin, Germany, Dec. 27, 1874, the son of August and Anna Stephan Daberko, who brought him to America when he was a boy of twelve. The greater portion of his life was spent as a coal miner, with the exception of a few years with the Department of Forest and Waters before retiring. His wife, Olive Cromner, preceded him in death. He is survived by a son, William Daberko of Leslie, Ark., one brother, Fred Daberko of Connellsville, two sisters, Mary and Frieda of Meyersdale, and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon by his pastor, the Rev. H. K. Hilner, under direction of H. R. Konhaus. Meyersdale Republican, May 5, 1949
