Born Oct. 16, 1915, at Maple Summit. A son of the late George F. and Jane R. (Felton) Daniels. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters. He was the last surviving member of his family. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Betty Lou (Collins) Daniels; daughters: Wilma Kay and her husband Dennis Nickelson of Confluence; Sharon Randall and her friend Frank Basinger of Melcroft; and sons George and his wife Penny (Thompson) Daniels; and Robert and his wife Nancy (Colbert) Daniels, both of Mill Run; and Monroe Daniels Jr. and his friend Linda Dean of Wellington, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Vernice Widdowson, of Confluence; also nieces and nephews. He was a former employee of Matowski Lumber Co. of Normalville, and the Ohiopyle Community Center. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, a member of C.B.I. WWII Veterans, Roof Garden Basha; Hopwood AmVets Post 103, Ohiopyle VFW and Ohiopyle Community Center. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Friday (today) and 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Madison Stringfellow officiating. Interment, Sands Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family. Daily American, October 10, 1997 [D0023]
