"Buddy" Darr, 83, of Somerset, died Jan. 1, 2002 at Somerset Hospital. Born Nov. 4, 1918 in Lincoln Township, he is the son of the late Clyde J. and Merta (Baker) Darr. Survived by sisters: Mrs. Meredith (Arlene) Lohr of Somerset and Mrs. Edward (Janet) Onstead of California; brother, Warren G. Darr and wife Betty of Florida; an aunt Pauline Ferguson of Somerset; devoted fiancee Reva Brougher of Somerset, and special friends, Ernest Stahl, Carl and Vivian Perian, James and Susan Brougher and Bill Reid. Member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, Somerset, Lodge 358 F. & A.M., VFW Post 554, American Legion Post 181, New Baltimore Sportsmans Club, Trustee of IOOF Lodge 438 and co- founder of the Somerset County Jeep Club. Veteran of World War II. A 1937 graduate of Somerset High School. Truck driver for Stahl Oil Co., for 17 years, retiring in 1985. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church with Pastor Dennis Doebler officiating. There will be viewing at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park with military honors.
