  Edward John Darr, 88, Somerset RD 2, died Aug. 10, 1996, at Somerset Hospital.  
  Born May 27, 1908, in Lincoln Township.  Son of Charles Franklin and Ellan 
  Catherine (Smith) Darr.  Preceded in death by parents and by stepmother, Lucy 
  (Shaffer) Darr and wife, the former Viola Catherine Iscrupe, who died April 9, 
  1983; 4 sisters:  Erma Smucker, Bessie Gashaw, Mary Walker, Pauline Darr; 2 
  brothers:  Clyde and Fred Darr.  Survived by son, Charles F. Darr, married to 
  former Barbara Suder, Somerset RD 2; 2 grandsons:  Michael C. Darr, Somerset RD 
  2, and Scott A. Darr, Bethesday, Md.; sister Gladys Hoffman, Somerset RD 3.  
  Member of Sipesville Church of the Brethren, Pennsylvania Farmers Association, 
  Pennsylvania Potato Growers, Sipesville Lions Club for 25 years.  He was a 
  Somerset School director from 1954-1961.  He had been a truck driver for Berkey 
  Milk Co. and was a retired Lincoln Township farmer and bus driver for Davis 
  Enterprises.  Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-
  Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with 
  the Rev. Danny R. Bailey officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
