She was born May 6, 1914, in Rochester, N.Y. to Franklin Burkholder Lohr and Minnie (Naylor). Preceded in death by parents and husband, Richard Kifer Darr, who died Dec. 28, 1951. Survived by children, Mrs. Joan Elizabeth Richardson, Mrs. James E. (Elizabeth Ann) Thompson, both of Tucson, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Mrs. Bryan (Lisa Ann Richardson) Martin of Campbell, Calif., and Mr. Ronald Craig Richardson of Prescott, Ariz.; two great-grandsons, Brendan James Martin and Connor Ray Martin. Known to her friends as Betty, she was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, and loved animals. She moved to Somerset in 1933 and married Richard in 1935. She was a former member of St. Steven's Episcopal Church in Rochester, N.Y. as well as First Christian Church in Somerset. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a Worthy Matron, OES Chapter 138. For many years she was Executive Director of Somerset Co. Tuberculosis and Health Society. She moved to Tucson in 1974, where she retired as an Attendance Clerk at Holladay Elementary School, Tucson Unified School District at age 72. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, with Rev. Daniel F. Nichsich officiating. Interment at Husband Cemetery. She was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 602 N. Wilmot Road at 5th St. Tucson, Ariz., where she will be remembered at the 5:30 p.m. mass, Monday, April 7, 2003.
