Darr, 67, of Friedens RD 1 died at his residence on June 30. Born November 3, 1905 in Lincoln Township, a son of the late Charles F. and Ella (Smith) Darr. Survived by his wife, the former Gladis Knepper; stepmother, Mrs. Lucy Darr of Somerset; six children, Wayne K., Berlin RD 1, Mrs. Donald (Lois) Lowry of Harrisburg, Fred S. Jr., Somerset RD 1, Mrs. Robert (Phyllis) Musser, Stoystown RD 3, Robert E. of Stoystown, Mrs. Dan (Barbara) Manges of Confluence RD 3; 26 grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Mrs. Alpha Smucker and Miss Pauline Darr of Somerset, Clyde Darr of Sipesville, Mrs. Clarence Walker and Edward Darr of Somerset RD 2, Mrs. Bessie Gashaw of Boswell and Mrs. Gladis Huffman of Somerset RD 3. He was a member of the Somerset Church of the Brethren where he served as a deacon and a faithful choir member. Also a member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Association, member of the Somerset County Holstein Club and Pennsylvania State champion potato grower in 1944. Friends are being received at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home until noon Tuesday when his remains will be removed to the Somerset Church of The Brethren to lie in state until 2 p.m., time of funeral service with the Rev. George Detwiler D.
