  VERNA DAVIS
  
    Verna M. Davis, 87, formerly of Antonio Street, Johnstown, died March 12,
  1997, in Johnstown.
    Born Dec. 8, 1909, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary E.
  (Buskey) Spence.  She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Helen
  Benson and Ruth Prichard (Seigner).
    Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, Reginald F. Davis of the Lutheran
  Home, Johnstown.  She was a sister of Vivian Donges, Leona Siehl, James O.
  Spence and Robert Spence, all of Meyersdale.
    Mrs. Davis was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and was a
  volunteer for Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital Junior Auxiliary.
    Friends were received March 13 at the Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary
  Inc., in Johnstown.  Graveside services were held March 14 at Union
  Cemetery, Meyersdale, with the Rev. Bruce E. Ashlock officiating.
