DAVIES Thelma Virginia Davies, 70, Chestnut Ridge Road, Grantsville, Md., died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1986, at West Virginia University Medical Center, Morgantown, W. Va. Born Sept. 6, 1915, in Frostburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Clayton Rankin and Maggie Pearl (Chaney) Ranking. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Frostburg. She and her husband owned and operated the Little Meadows Lake Foundation near Grantsville. She is survived by her husband, John E. Davies; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Lindeman and Mrs. Judie Robinette, both of Grantsville; three sisters: Mrs. Beatrice Neder, Ellerslie, Md.; Mrs. Margaret Thomas, Hagerstown, Md.; and Miss Shirley Rankin, Frostburg, Md.; three brothers: James Rankin, Uniontown; William Rankin, Frostburg, Md.; and Walter Rankin, Eckhart, Md.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, where services were conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Richard Harris. Interment, Davies family cemetery, Little Meadows Lake. Pallbearers were Gary Robinette, Richard Bittinger, Albert Arnold, Darryll Garrison, Dwayne Rankin and Gilbert L. Nicol. The Republic, January 30, 1986 [D0110]
