He was 76 years old. Mr. Davis was born and reared in Pennsylvania. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Washington and Jefferson College with Phi Beta Kappa honors. He also graduated with honors in the New York Law School and attended Oxford, Columbia and Harvard universities. He served as a major in World War II in the British Isles and Continental Europe. He is believed to be the only known American officer ever to be certified by the RAF to manage an RAF air-traffic control tower. During his legal career he served as General Counsel for the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Board of National Missions of the United Presbyterian Church. Mr. Davis resided in Dallas for the last 15 years. He is survived by his sister, Mary L. Sorlie of Dallas; two nieces, Mrs. A. Joseph Snouffer, Mrs. Kenneth Arthur; and 3 grand-nephews: Thomas L. Tullous, Gardner Harris and Tanner Harris. A private memorial service will be held for the family. Daily American, December 13, 1994 [D0122]
