DAVID S. DAVIS

  David S. Davis, 73, died at his home in Oakland, Maryland, Friday morning, 
Nov. 5, following a heart attack.  He was born in Dodridge County, W.Va., March 
25, 1870.
  Surviving are three children, Mrs. Georgia Whipkey, of Coraopolis, Pa.; Mrs. 
Beryl Gortner and Delbert M. Davis, of Oakland; six grandchildren and three 
great-grandchildren; also two brothers, George and Clarence D. Davis, of Cold 
Water, W.Va.
  Mr. Davis had lived in Garrett County since 1902, and in Oakland for 24 years.  
His wife died in 1932.
  Funeral services were conducted last Sunday at the home of his son, Delbert 
Davis, cashier of the First National Bank of Oakland, by Rev. Minor Sprague of 
the Methodist church.  Interment in Oakland Cemetery.
