Davis, 75, of Orange City, Fla., died Aug. 17, 2001, at Florida Hospital, Altamonte, Fla. Born Nov. 14, 1925, in Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Addie and Arthur J. Davis. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Davis, in 1981, and sister-in-law Florence (Meyers) Davis. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Dorothy Brick; a daughter, Bonnie Hirst, and husband George; two sisters: Dorothy, wife of the late Emerson Snyder; and Viola, wife of R. Wayne Suder of Berlin; a grandson, Josh Hirst; and numerous nieces and nephews. Emmert was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Jaffa Temple. A retired truck driver, he and his wife Dorothy moved to Florida in 1985. He enjoyed golfing, the beach, spending time with his grandson and serving his church at Kepler Road Baptist Church. A memorial service was held Aug. 22 at Kepler Road Baptist Church, DeLand, Fla. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Kepler Road Baptist Church, c/o Mrs. Dorothy Davis, 855 Naval Orange Dr., Orange City, Fla., 32736.
