  GALEN R. DAVIS
  
    Galen Ray Davis, 78, Somerset RD 1, died Feb. 27, 1979, in Somerset Community 
  Hospital.
    He was born July 24, 1900, in Elk Lick Township, son of the late Samuel J. and 
  Carolyn A. (Hollida) Davis.  He was preceded in death by parents and one sister, 
  Erla Davis.
    He is survived by his wife, Helen Saylor Davis; and these brothers and 
  sisters:  Mrs. Wilma Oester, Somerset; Mrs. Margaret Barnett and Ralph, both of 
  Canton, Ohio; and Stewart, Ruffsdale RD 1.
    He was a member of the First Christian Church, Somerset.  He was retired from 
  Somerset Door and Column Co. Jan. 1, 1967, where he served as superintendent of 
  the mill for 41 years.
    Friends were received in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service was 
  conducted in the absence of his pastor, the Rev. Paul Weber, the service was 
  conducted by the Rev. Roger L. Forry of the Somerset Church of the Brethren.  
  Interment, Husband Cemetery.
