Davis, 66, Somerset, died Jan. 23, at the Presbyterian University Hospital, Pgh. Born Jan. 7, 1922, in Somerset Township. Son of the late Donavon I. and Mary (Aultz) Davis. Preceded in death by son Allen and brother Jay. Survived by his wife the former Hilda C. (Sauvarin) and these children: Mrs. C. Edward (Teresa) Landis, Friedens RD 2; Graham James Davis of Crofton, Md.; 5 grandchildren. brother of Ray, Miss Anna-Mae Davis, George and Mrs. Olive Joanne Croyle all of Somerset; Willard of Nanty Glo, Clifford L. of Rockwood RD 1, Mrs. Paul (Hazel) Hansen of Reno, Nev. and Clyde of Stoystown. Former employee of Dolan Chevrolet for 24 years and Jim's Truck Stop. Veteran U.S. Army, World War II. He was a noted fiddler with the "Country Playboys" had won the Pa. State Bluegrass Fiddler Championship. Member of First United Methodist Church, VFW Post 554, American Legion Post 181, the Johnstown Musical Society, the Country Music Association and the Somerset Aero Club. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Service will be held 10 a.m. Wed. Rev. Arthur J. Gotjen officiating.
