Mr. Davis was born on September 28, 1882, in Elk Lick Township, a son of John N. and Dinah (Schrock) Davis, and was aged 62 years, 1 month and 2 days. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Vida, wife of Oliver Schenk of Quakertown, Pa., and two sons, Captain Darrell Davis, with the U.S. Army in France, and Edward, at home. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Annie Klink of Altoona, Pa., and Sidney, wife of Herbert Engle, Canton, Ohio; three brothers, William, Somerset, and Edward and Sherman of Springs; and four grandchildren. Mr. Davis was married to Miss Della Hollada on June 15, 1912, at the home of the late E. E. and Mrs. Vida Haselbarth. He was a lifelong member of the Maple Glen Church of the Brethren. Until about a year ago, he was in the lumber business, a member of the firm of Davis Bros., of Springs. Funeral services were held in the Springs Mennonite Church at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 2, with Rev. A. J. Replogle, Rev. J. C. Beahm and Rev. Roy Otto officiating. Interment in Maple Glen Cemetery, with Mortician Stanley M. Thomas in charge. Mr. Davis was an upright and exemplary citizen in every respect and was highly respected by all who knew him.
