  WILLIAM S. DAVIS December 31, 1935-August 21, 2002
  
    William S. Davis, 67, of Rockwood, passed on Aug. 21, 2002, at Somerset
  Hospital.
    Born Dec. 31, 1934, in Garrett, he was the son of the late Frederick and
  Elizabeth (Kennell) Davis.  He was also preceded in death by his brother
  Frederick Davis.
    He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jeannette (Myers) Davis; these
  children: Wayne and William Davis; Tammy, married to LeRoy Newell; Sheila,
  married to Don Baker and Deanna Davis; and friend Brandin Bruening, all of
  Rockwood; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  He was the
  brother of Pauline Cuttrell of Elizabeth City, N.C., Dean Davis of Clinton,
  Ohio, Ruth Behra of Akron, Ohio, Charles Davis of Rockwood, Betty Kearns of
  Akron, Ohio, Kenneth Davis of Garrett, James Davis of Elizabeth City, N.C.,
  and Janet Burkholder, Akron.
    He was a member of the Rockwood Church of the Brethren, a life member and
  past commander of the Rockwood American Legion Post 279 and the Rockwood
  Sportsmen's Club.  He was employed by the Crane Company in Somerset and was
  a veteran of the U.S. Army in the Korean War.
    A service was held at Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood, with the Rev. Jay
  Christner officiating.  Interment, Rockwood I.O.O.F Cemetery.  Memorial
  contributions may be sent to the Rockwood Church of the Brethren at 600 W.
  Main St., Rockwood, PA, 15557.
