(May) 01/20/07 Daily American Alleene L. (May) Davitch, 82, Jerome, died Jan. 18, 2007, at her home. Born Feb. 21, 1924, in Boswell, daughter of Harper and Edythe (Adams) May. Preceded in death by parents; husband, George R. Davitch Sr., on Sept. 24, 1999; grandson, Robert A. Bracken, on July 25, 2003; brother, Harry May; and brother-in-law, Eugene Roadman. Survived by daughter, Bonnie, married to William "Tuck" Bracken, Jerome; son, George "Bob" Davitch Jr., Jerome; grandchildren, Lisa Gowarty, and fiancˇ, Chad Maurer, Jerome; and Melissa and Frederick; great-grandchildren, Kristen and Andrew Gowarty and Darien; brothers, Reed May, and wife, Josie, Johnstown; and Paul May, and wife, Norma, Minerva, Ohio; sister, Charmaine Roadman, New Bern, N.C.; sister-in-law, Evelyn May, Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a seamstress for the former Nancy Carol Garment Factory and the former Dorfman & Hoffman Garment Factory, both of Boswell, and Bestform, Windber. Member of ILGWU and Jerome Church of the Nazarene, where she was a Sunday school teacher and secretary, and president of the local Nazarene Missions International. Volunteer for St. Francis Sharing & Caring, Hollsopple. Enjoyed gardening and doing yard work. She loved all the angels who took care of her. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Nathan Zipfel officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Regional Hospice at Windber, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15963.
